We're off on our first vacation. That means it's Midge's first time visiting where Mommy and Daddy grew up. That also means a four hour car ride. To be sure Midge was comfortable, we went with a loose fitting top and comfy leggings so the carseat straps didn't rub in uncomfortable ways. As always, we topped it off with a matching headband.

This is the last time you'll be seeing the above headband on Midge. While it is supposed to be a 0-6 month size, it is clearly time to retire it. After wearing it for 10 minutes, poor little Midge had marks on her head. This is why Mommy loves the headbands from Carters as they are just fabric. No elastic = no marks. 

Also, don't be afraid to mix patterns. Midge's top has stripes and her leggins are polka dots, BUT they are in the same color family, so it is OK to mix. Besides, babies in lots of patterns is just adorable!

Midge can officially wear some 3 month sized clothing! Again, they're all Carter's, and it's hit or miss, but we're getting there!

And, Midge and Mommy went shopping today. Our local outlet mall has a Carter's store and they're currently running a great clearance sale. In addition to items starting at just $3.99, they also have a "frequent flyer" card. Every time you spend $20, or more, you get a stamp on the card. On Tuesdays, they'll stamp it twice, even if you only spend $20. Since today was Tuesday, we got two stamps, which filled the card. That meant we got $10 off a purchase of $10 or more, and since the card expires on July 2, we used it today! We walked out of the store with a bathing suit and cover up, three onsies (in progressing sizes), one two piece outfit, two headbands, a denim overall skirt in size 18 months, and a shirt in size 2T, all for about $30. Not bad!

After such a big weekend, Midge and Mommy had a lazy Monday. That meant staying in our jammies, but even Midge's jammies are just too cute.

Midge Goes to the Zoo!

Today we took our first trip to the zoo. The weather was absolutely perfect to walk around outside; not as humid as it has been and slightly overcast. We also had some friends staying with us from out of town due to the party yesterday, so they and their two children joined us. Since they had to travel, they did not bring any strollers so they used both of ours and mommy used the Moby wrap for Midge.

Since the Moby runs the risk of getting warm (for both Midge and mommy) we had to dress accordingly.  Midge sported the below outfit (minus the skirt) and a sun hat to keep her little head safe from the sun.

Mommy and Daddy hosted a Diaper Party/Cook-out for Midge today. She got to meet a lot of new people and had quite a big day. Above, she's hanging out with Grandpa for the first time in month! It was a nice day weather wise, a little humid, so we kept it simple with a cute crab onsie that was very summer appropriate. And of course, a headband.

Midge got to visit daddy at work today and was officially put into DEERs, so it made for an earlier morning than she's used to. That meant something quick and easy so a onsie it is! That headband, just icing on the cake. Too cute.

I don't know what I like about this picture best, the crab-butt or the tiny toes! This is the perfect outfit for a humid summer day and running errands with mommy. Creepers are slowly becoming a favorite as summer continues to heat up. They have the functionality of a onsie but are so much cuter and look a bit more "put together." See a front view below. And I will add, there are snaps between the legs which are a must for easy diaper changes!

I think Mommy is going to have to make a tulle tutu because there just aren't any in stores smaller than 12 months. Midge is a bit of a peanut (still only in newborn sizes) so it makes shopping difficult. She is growing so I expect her to be in 0-3 and 3 month clothes within the next month, which makes us very happy! Yay for more cute clothes!
